Christmas Trees
Each January, Westmoreland Cleanways joins with other organizations to recycle Christmas trees. The trees are ground up for mulch or distributed in woodlands for wildlife habitat.
Thanks to our concerned residents, the Christmas tree recycling program is a great success. Each year, more than 2,000 trees are taken to collection sites located throughout the county. Christmas tree recyclers put their beliefs in action by helping return the trees to nature, where they can continue to spread their beauty.
The Westmoreland County Commissioners and the Westmoreland Sportsmen's League have provided monetary support for the Christmas tree recycling program. Please click here for a printable list of recycling drop-off dates and locations.
