Hard-To-Recycle-Stuff Collections
Westmoreland Cleanways sponsors collections every spring and fall for those hard to dispose and hard to recycle items that include tires, vehicle (lead acid) batteries, appliances (including freon-containing), scrap metal and electronics. Once collected, as much of the material as possible is recycled.

• Automobile and light truck tires: $1.75 per tire off-rim, $2.75 per tire on-rim

• Tractor tires and tractor trailer tires: Fees vary; determined at collection

• Freon-containing appliances: $20 per unit

• Scrap metal/non-freon appliances: No charge

• Vehicle batteries: No charge

• Electronics (residential): No charge

• Electronics (commercial): No charge

• Household batteries (rechargeable/alkaline): No charge

• Ink Cartridges: No Charge

• CFLs: No charge (Fluorescent Light tubes are NOT accepted, but are collected at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection)
Westmoreland Cleanways members receive reduced rates on tire recycling.

***Note: All events previously held at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds will now be held at WCCC. The collection event previously held at Norwin Hills, in North Huntingdon will be at a new location this year.***
Salandro's Refuse, Inc., Dan's Tire, The Appliance Warehouse, and Creative Recycling collect the material for recycling and proper disposal.
